Beaver
How to cook Raccoon: it was on an edition about 20 years old, here some example. The last version of the Joy of Cooking that I owe (2008 edition) doesn't have any recipes for small games either than rabbits.
Cooking Raccons is not illegal, but dangerous. In the area of Toronto (not sure all Ontario as it's a huge region) you cannot kill a Raccoon, and this law is not made for their safety but for YOUR. Apparently these animals carry many deseases that nobody wants to deal with, not even veterinarians. So you need to call animal control to get rid of these that are destroying your garden or roof. Too bad, they look so cute! but yes, they are pests.
Anyway! Talking about the beaver, it was the first economical reason that moved Europeans to do businesses with the natives, because of the fur trade. Here some more info.
But most importantly! Now I know the double meaning of BEAVER!!!! If I was a boy I would agree it's an amazing National symbol :-D

Canadian Espresso
Here they watch you weird if you ask 1 single espresso. Like it's crazy and disgusting, even though they have it in their menu. Then this is what can happen when you ask for 4 coffee espresso...Ps. The guys on the 1st left are my parents. The stripe is too short to show my brother as well :P

Here we have some of my Italian friends that come to visit me (and East Canada) last summer. Luca (Daro) was th official translator of the group, while Simona always had some trouble speaking English... here one of her gaffes that was worting to be reported :)Qui ci sono alcuni dei miei amici Italiani presi da un episodio dell'anno scorso.
Luca (Daro) e' gia' in gamba con l'inglese, mentre Simona non l'ha mai masticato molto bene...

Tastes

Sorry to everybody for the absence of comics last week. Added to my many engagements there is also my work machine that attempted suicide and now lay down in coma waiting that the doctor (sys-admin) tell me if we can save her or if we have to opt for "organ donations". I admit she menaced of suicide since long time and maybe my "merda" and "porcaputtana" followed by hand gestures might have been interpreted as loss of love. My bad. But don't despair, I have some new gag ready to be worked on. But for now Italy is waiting me for x-mas. yum yum :D

At the restaurant

Being in a country with a different language can give you comunication/understanding problems.
So it happen that you just memorize the more usual question they ask you in services (supermarket, pubs, resto etc) and when you don't get them you just guess what is the more probable question they made you. It works the most of the times ;)
